Course Description
This session considers how we can promote positive behaviour for under fives (the content can be adapted to cover over fives if requested) and gives practitoners a greater understanding of children's behaviour and provides positive, practical strategies on how address unwanted behaviour e.g. biting and responding appropriately. Extensive practical resources are demonstrated throughout the session and candidates are given a fresh approach to dealing with behaviour. The session promotes reflective practice, the importance of observation and assessment, focussing on children's individual needs, effective communication and participation and effective partnership with parents. Ths session also covers responding to challenging and agressive behaviour in children and why, when and how to link to specialist assessment and support when required.
