Participation through Play
Course Description
This session underlines the value of play in empowering children and promoting the benefits of effective role models. The session considers how we develop children's confidence and self-esteem whilst motivating and developing new skills. It aims to encourage and support enabling environments and positive relationships and how this meets children's individual unique needs .
This session is delivered over 1 x 3hr, 2 x3hr or 1 x6hr/full day sessions.
This session can also be adapted and delivered as parent workshops.
Aims and Objectives
To promote child led initiatives.
To support the adult in the preparation and consideration of resources and activities provided.
To establish the benefits of open-ended and child driven play.
To reflect on how much we value and respects a child's contribution
To consider the adult's role in active interaction and modelling whilst promoting creativity and imagination.
To support the unique child and build on what the child has mastered and achieved.
To consider the importance of and how to use observation, assesment and record keeping to enable effective practice through child participation in future planning.
Early years practitioners, parents or carers will participate in hands on activities and resources to promote children's learning and development.
