Playtime For Under Two's
Course Description
This session is underpinned by a principled play based approach. It provides a fresh new perspective on creative play and gives candidates exciting age appropriate actvities for under two's. It includes story time, treasure baskets, nursery rhyme boxes and heuristic play. It covers how play links to learning, physical, sensory, language and creative development.
It can be delivered over 1 x 3hr. 2 x 3hr or 1 full day sessions.
Aims and Objectives
To provide candidates age appropriate and fresh activities for under two's.
To explore what play is and why it it important.
To explore how to choose and plan activities and how to evaluate equipment.
To consider how play promotes learning and development.
To explore storytime with under two's.
To consider the value of nursery rhyme boxes, treasure baskets and heuristic play.
To develop an understanding of how children's physical, sensory and creative development, as well as language skills are supported through play.
To consider how play can be used to promote equality and diversity.
