Course Description

This session supports transition in the early years.  It promotes positive relartionships and has extensive links in how to meet the ECM outcomes and EYFS requirements.  It encourages early years practitioners / parents and carers to be aware of the factors which may affect the child, parent or carer through transitions in their lives.

This course can be adapted for parent work shops.

This session is delivered over 1 x3hr, 2 x 3hr or 1 x 6hr/full day sessions.

Aims and Objectives

To reflect on our own life transitions .

To develop an understanding of why we need to support others through transitions.

To develop an understanding of theory of "attachment".

To refresh on the role of the key worker.

Explore the effect of negative and positive transition

To develop and understanding of multi agency working and effective communication.

To provide practical, creative ideras in ways to support the early years practitioner, parent or carer and the child through transitions.

To refresh on the importance of effective settling in and admission policies.

Candidates will participate in hands on activities and resources tro promote learning and development skills.
