Feel Fun and Play for under 3's
Course Description
What children see they explore, what they explore they touch, what they touch they experience, what they experience they believe, what they believe they understand, what they understand they remember.
This session provides workers with a fresh approach to sensory play and provides a wide range of activities which support children's learning and development. It is underpinned by the principles of child led play and develops workers knowledge and skills in the importance and promotion of sensory play with children. Practitioners take lots of fun, practical ideas and activities away for them to adapt and use in planning.
This session can be delivered over 1 x 3hr or a full day session.
Aims and Objectives
To establish and promote a wide range of actitivities in an exciting environment which supports, promotes and encourages all aspects of learning and development through sensory play.
To reflect on a wide range or innovative and every day resources and materials that are available at low cost.
To consider safety aspects of sensory play.
To promote child led play supporting the child's own initiatives and ideas.
To support the early years practitioner to monitor observation and evaluate the child's learning and development skills.
To develop early years practioners knowledge and skills in the importance of sensory play materials and their values.
